BROWN. is a household goods shop that opened in 2011. Each and every one of the products they deal with has been carefully selected and purchased either in Japan or abroad, in America or Europe. Their range of products includes used and antique goods, going from small goods such as tableware, bottle or pot, to furniture such as stool, used clothes, bag or vintage cloths. All these are charming products, gathered after the owner’s wish to offer "goods that widen a whole new different world by just adding them to everyday life."
Just go inside the shop for a start. we am sure that you will find yourself thinking "I would like to try this" while having a look at the lined-up goods.
The entrance of the shop is rather small, but inside it is unexpectedly deep and you will find a wide space.
Rather than in order, the goods are exhibited in a way that lacks any sense of unity, and strangely enough, this makes for a calm and tranquil atmosphere.
You may look at the products picturing to yourself scenes that include them and thinking "If I had a bowl like this one…"
We believe they had a substantial variety of cotton and linen fabric goods, including vintage and dead stock products such as kitchen towel, bag or cushion. All of them had attractive and interesting patterns and colors.
These were enshrined at the back of the shop. Their presence stood prominently among the other products, most of which were of relatively tranquil colors such as white or pale blue…
The composition of the products and the display changes constantly. The inside of the shop when you visit it may be unique to that specific moment. In other words, this means that no matter how many times you go, at this shop you are likely to find a new different charm every time.
It is located in the south side of Kyotogyoen alongside Ebisugawa-dori street, where there are many antique stores and furniture shops. Its landmark is the green door sign - we recommend taking the time and stopping by if you are ever in the neighbourhood.
