GuestHouse TONBO is one minute by foot from Keihan Demachiyanagi station. It is a guest house on the banks of the Kamogawa River with an at-home feel. The guest house is located near Kyoto University, and there are plenty of inexpensive student-oriented restaurants, izakaya pubs, and fashionable cafes. It is also convenient for tourism, as a bus to the west leads to the World Heritage Ginkaku-ji temple (Silver Pavilion), Kyoto Gyoen (Kyoto-gyoen Park) and Kitano Tenmangu shrine are found to the east, and Kibune-jinja shrine can be reached by a train to the north. The the Kamogawa River’s edge is also a fine place to relax when not out on excursion. Why not make this you base for touring around Kyoto?
This is the first-floor entrance and common area. The handmade feel here certainly creates an at-home atmosphere.

Rooms for lodging are on the second floor. The photograph on the right is a private room. There are also dormitories separated by gender.
There is a sign for “TONBO” on the road following the Kamogawa River. The guest house is located at the end of that alleyway.
