Kyoto, Gojo-Karasuma is the guesthouse blessed with a wonderful location; it is at approximately 12-minute walk from JR Kyoto station, and 2-minute walk from Subway Gojo Station. Kazariya was opened in the summer of 2009. There are many restaurants, ryokans, and guesthouses in Kyoto which have been modeled on traditional Japanese houses. Kazariya is also one of them. However, its atmosphere is a little bit different from others. The building was constructed in the first half of the 1900s, just as western culture started to be introduced in Japan. Hence, although it is primarily based on a Japanese-style townhouse, it also features a hint of western culture, providing a space that is extremely charming. The building was later on renovated as a guesthouse.

This is the entrance. Although it is located in a city, when you go inside there is a relaxed atmosphere, almost as if time passed slowly only in this guesthouse.

The inside of the building is based on a very Kyoto-like design, with a very calm and relaxed atmosphere. In this place, your heart will be enveloped within this charming space that feels like it could make you forget about all the hustle and bustle happening outside. And it will also relieve your tiredness from travel.

It has four private rooms and one dormitory room(Capacity : 6 persons). The dormitory room is for women only. Each room has been carefully looked after. I would love you to see the ornaments as well, featuring a moderate style that is based on good taste.

Its stylish interiors, as well as fixtures and fittings, which are casually scattered around the place, are also worth a look.

There is a courtyard on the inside of the building, which is one of Kazariya’s charming features. This courtyard will present beautiful displays whether you visit in the spring, summer, winter, or fall.

This is the shared kitchen; a very welcome facility for those staying long term.

Additionally, this guest house has a tearoom that has been handmade by the staff. It might be handmade but it’s definitely the real thing! You should definitely go there to enjoy some tea.

This guest house’s motto is "Decorate your trip, enjoy your stay." Why not follow their advice and enjoy your visit to Kyoto by choosing a great place to stay? Kazariya would be perfect for this.
