This is a popular Chinese restaurant located in a shopping area that gets a lot of pedestrian traffic even for Kyoto. The boiled gyoza dumplings made by the proprietress are the feature of this store's signboard menu, and the pleasant chewiness of the slightly thicker-than-usual dumpling skins is exceptional. There are 10 set meals on the lunchtime menu. They all look so delicious that it's difficult to choose between them, and it's great that all of the set meals include the store's specialty, the gyoza dumplings.
As you enter the restaurant, you will see individual seats lined up along a counter to your right, and seats arranged around tables on your left.
Ten different set meals are on the lunchtime menu. 1180yen. (Saturday, Sunday, holiday only)
fter much wavering, I ended up choosing number 10, stir-fried shrimp in chili sauce set.
This is thestir-fried shrimp in chili sauce set
In addition to the main dish of shrimp in chili sauce, there are three side dishes, as well as rice and soup.
And of course, the gyoza dumplings are part of the meal.
Among the side dishes is a salad featuring that characteristic ingredient of Chinese cuisine, dried tofu. It has a marvelous chewiness.
There are also a fried chicken dish, a plate of shumai dumplings, and of course, the boiled gyoza dumplings, all of them as delicious as I anticipated.
I have to give a perfect score for quantity. My stomach was fully satisfied! I really enjoyed the meal.
Now the other menu selections are on my mind.
Looks like I might be coming back here quite a lot, to try and find my favorite one. This is a Chinese restaurant I can certainly recommend.
