As it turns out, bicycles are really convenient for sighseeing in Kyoto. Of course, there are also bus and subway, but they are rather expensive and transfers are troublesome. If you think about it, using a bicycle is more economic and adaptable. Most of the main sightseeing spots in Kyoto are revolving around the same spot and not very far away, so it is absolutely possible to go from one another by bicycle. Today we would like to introduce you to Rent a cycle EMUSICA, which is located near the Keihan Railway Demachiyanagi station.
Its incredibly low price - just 500 yen a day - is its biggest charm! On top of this, it is conveniently located for easy access to the sightseeing area.
They have more than 250 bicycles available!!
Even so, during the cherry blossoms season in spring and the autumn tints season in the fall, they have so many customers that we recommend going early to ensure you get a bicycle.
Customers drop in one after the other. There are many customers from abroad as well.
All the staff are kind and friendly so you do not need to worry :)
It is nice to know that they have various rental plans such as “day rent,” “night rent” or one week/month for long-term stays.
They are also selling original T-shirts with adorable illustrations. How about buying one as a souvenir?
Near the shop you can find the Shimogamo-jinja shrine. If you go North you will find the Kamigamo-jinja shrine, whereas if you go to the East you will find Ginkaku-ji temple and Philosopher's Path. Slightly South there is the Heian-jingu Shrine and going West leads to Kyoto Gyoen (Kyoto Imperial palace park) and Kitano Tenmangu shrine. Keep going West to reach Kinkaku-ji temple and Ryoan-ji temple. There are many options - where you go is completely up to you. Prepare your sightseeing plan and let’s enjoy Kyoto!
