Ryuhon-ji temple is a the Nichiren sect of Buddhist temple in kamigyo-ku, Kyoto city. This is one of the temples founded by Nichizo, a disciple of Nichiren. Most of the Nichiren temples in Kyoto have not been introduced as sight-seeing places. Ryuhon-ji temple is one of them. There are few tourists and the temple is normally a popular place for elders to relax and for kids to play. For Japanese, a temple that blends into daily life such as Ryuhon-ji temple is probably more preferable. It may be a good place to visit if you are looking for simplicity in a temple that is not crowded with tourists. Also, in the spring, about 40 cherry blossom trees bloom beautifully as if covering the main hall. It is quite a sight worth seeing.
