The "Tenjin-san" flea market is held on the 25th of every month at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. As many as 1000 stalls line up on the shrine precincts as well as in the area around the shrine. The majority of stalls sell clothing such as second-hand clothes, kimonos, etc. and antiques such as pottery and the like. There are also many places to eat, including food carts and stalls selling foods such as fruits, vegetables, etc. With its small-time festival atmosphere, it is sure to be a fun event to come out to with your family.
There were a lot of stalls selling fruit and vegetables. In addition, there were shops with other foods such as pickled vegetables and seafood. Many food cards were set up there too, so you could go for a walk while tasting different flavors.
On this day it was crowded throughout the day with many people, including local residents and tourists.
Posters, books, and calendars too... They were selling next year’s calendars since it was right near the end of the year.
