Located in the south of Kyoto Gyoen, Teramachi-Sarashina is a soba restaurant along the Teramachi-dori street near Shimogoryo-jinja shrine. Established in 1912, despite being a long-standing restaurant, the restaurant is a place where you can enjoy soba in a relaxing environment. main dishes are soba, Udon, rice bowl dishes and etc. Recommended dishes are Anago-soba(soba noodles served with a grilled sea eel on top), Kamo-soba(soba noodles served with a cooked duck on top), Kamo-udon(udon noodles served with a cooked duck on top), Nishin-soba(soba noodles served with a cooked herring on top), and Oroshi-soba which has tempura. Also be sure to try great dishes such as Dashimaki(rolled omelet made with soup stock).
That day I ordered Kamo-soba. As soon as the dish was brought to me, the soup’s pleasant scent filled the air.
Ingredients included shredded onion and potherb mustard, and plenty of duck meat. Adequately soaked in soup, duck meat was delicious! Soba had full body and was also satisfying.
